This is a bottom-up, seamless tee with lace yoke and matching lace trim at bottom, and a keyhole detail at the back. It was loosely inspired by Margot’s scarlet dress in ‘Dial M for Murder’ (lacy bits, solid bits, Dangerously Red).

A bright red hand-knitted top with a solid body and light lace detail over the decolletage, let’s say. It has cap sleeves and a slightly scalloped hem on the sleeves and waist.

  • Pattern: improvised (did I take notes? if I did I have no idea where they ended up)
  • Yarn: Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin in Ruby Thursday

A close-up of the lace detail which I think is quite neat:

A close-up of a knitted pattern of interlocking diamonds and lines, in bright red yarn.

And of the keyhole, which I think is even neater:

A close up of a keyhole detail at the back of a hand-knitted top in bright red yarn. It’s held together with a silver button with a looping flower-like pattern embossed in it.

Last year I bought a couple of books by Named Clothing as a birthday present to myself.
